The 2022 Centurion World Wake Surfing Championship is launching on October 6th-8th at Lake Norman, North Carolina. This is the 26th running of this renowned event, held once a year for the most elite wake surfing athletes in the World. This event will be the final destination for some of the best riders in the world to compete at the pinnacle of their sport.

This year’s in-person competitors will be pulled behind the all-new 2023 (Military Green Metal Flake) Centurion Ri230. Who would have thought the biggest news in wake surfing this year would be generated by the smallest of the Centurion Ri Series. The W¬orld’s best waves, wakes and ride have gotten even better with the evolved running surface of the Ri230’s Opti-V Hull. The look of the Centurion Ri230 merges the depth of the Ri Series with the sharp lines of the Fi Series achieving an aggressive, head-turning style. Centurion engineers have added a number of lake life-improving refinements to the Ri230 for as many as 14 people. The 2022 Centurion Ri230 includes Centurion’s Remote Engagement Continuous Optimization Network (RECON) telematics by Osmosis, Lay-flat Sun Pad Lounge Seats, Revo 12-inch by 12-inch side by side touch screens, all new available RAMFILL2 or as we call it the “Baller” ballast system, the available Range of View (ROV) bow to stern camera system with live fuel usage data, and the available upgraded Centurion Shift Thruster System by CMI. We recently caught up with Centurion team rider, Dallas Friday, on her hometown lake, Lake Holden in Orlando, FL. Dallas first started wakeboarding with her brothers in 1999 at the age of 12. Not only is Dallas a 4X X-Games Gold medalist, multiple US National and World Champion and the only wakeboarder to ever win an ESPN – ESPY Award, but she also won Wakeboarding’s Legend Award in 2020. She’s progressed women’s riding like nobody else and it’s always a blast catching up with her!

Keenan Flegel’s name is synonymous with professional wakesurfing––at this point in his storied career he’s a legend in the sport. He’s one of the most well-rounded and consistent riders, whether he’s on a surf style or skim board, and he’s still holding his own against the next generation of pros, as evidenced with his latest world championship title in October. We caught up with the longtime Centurion team rider at the 2020 World Wakesurfing Championships, and as you can see Keenan is not only one of the best in the world, but also one of the most laid back and fun guys to hang out with, on or off the water.

At the 2020 Centurion World Wakesurfing Championships, we caught up with team rider Ashley Kidd, now a five-time world champ, and the 2020 winner of the Readers Poll Favorite Wakesurfer. Ashley has spent the better part of the past decade dominating the competitive wakesurfing world, while inspiring fans worldwide with her hard-charging, aggressive style. With a fresh world championship title under her belt, she’s heading into 2021 looking to do more of the same.
