There’s a new kind of watersports boat! And it may be hitting a lake near you soon.

Born of the collaboration of Indmar, Pavati, and Roush Performance, the AL26, as its called, offers features not seen before aboard an inboard (V-drive) waterpsports boat.

For instance, there is a screen that lets a surfer behind the boat see the boat speed and settings. There’s is also apparently 360-degrees of engine access, meaning DIY boaters (and the mechanics of other boaters) will be doing flips in their driveways and garages. Another cool feature? It’s got autopilot. That’s a first as standard equipment for a watersports boat (surely some clever boat owner somewhere has done this aftermarket) and offers watersports boats owners the same steering convenience owners of other boat types regularly enjoy.

Check out the video and read the statement below for more information. And, look for our test of this innovative new boat coming soon.

And if you really can’t wait? Head to the 2023 Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show where you can see it in person at Indmar’s booth MB2090 in the Convention Center.

Industry-first features to be debuted at Miami International Boat Show:

360° Engine AccessThis allows for quick and easy servicing of the reliable Indmar engine.
Surf Lounge with Surf ScreenSynced with Indmar the rear display screen allows the rider to see the pre-set speed.
Vital VueSee thru engine access panels for important side views of the engine and bilge areas.
Pavati RGB Engine CowlingThe “diamond” of a ring and the Pavati touch to Indmars performance engine custom-made RGB engine cover elevates the look of the engine room.
22” Garmin Display with AutopilotOnly wake boat with 22” Garmin and Autopilot capability. Autopilot holds your course even when your boat is pitching and rolling in rough water. Offers flexible installation options and requires a minimum amount of commissioning and calibration. The result is that everyone onboard enjoys a more comfortable ride while heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption are minimized.
All-Aluminum ConstructionOnly wake boat that’s all-aluminum construction.
Bow and Stern ThrustersA single press of a button will park the boat alongside a dock.

Raptor 460 Wins Boating Industry’s 2017 Top Product Award Indmar

MILLINGTON, TENN, May 2, 2017Indmar Marine Engines, the world’s largest privately held manufacturer of inboard marine engines, announced today that Boating Industry Magazine selected the all-new Raptor 460 as a 2017 Top Product winner.

Boating Industry’s Top Products list plays host to 50 of the best new products and services for the marine industry. Indmar’s Raptor 460 stood out from hundreds of nominations for it’s impact on the industry, innovation and how the product advances its product category.

The all-new Raptor 460 offers better fuel economy and delivers the performance consumers are seeking at a great price point alternative. A high-torque intake manifold and high horsepower throttle body, borrowed from Ford’s GT-350, has this model delivering the torque users would expect from a diesel. It boasts 453 lb.-ft. of torque and is fulfilling customer demand and the void left by larger displacement engines that are no longer produced.

Built on the current Ford and Indmar platform to maximize performance and efficiency, the Raptor 460 has raised a few eyebrows with people thinking Indmar has resurrected the old Ford 460; however this is not the case. The Raptor 460 has less displacement; it’s lighter, more powerful and has better fuel economy than the Ford’s legacy 460. Meaning, this is not your Grandfathers 460!

The Raptor 460 is built off a proven workhorse, the Built Ford Tough® 6.2L 16-Valve SOHC V8 engine with dual-equal variable cam timing that was designed, engineered, built and torture-tested by Ford. The same state-of-the-art engine that powers the F-150 F-Series Super Duty Trucks that boast best-in-class gas horsepower, torque and max towing ratings.

Indmar’s engineering team topped this engine off with free flowing tuned 5” exhaust and a patent-pending inline spiral flow muffler. Low backpressure and an LED lighted cover are just a few of the features added to this edition of the Wake and Jet Raptor Series 460. The Jet Series has been designed with a single point drain and is available with the following jet options: Hamilton, American Turbine, Berkeley, Dominator, Legend, Kodiak and Scott Water Jets.

With four engine configurations, the dual performing and 5x Award Winning Best-in-Class Raptor Series has the durability and capability to accommodate all your boating activities on a wide variety of vessels. Consumers will find that each engine in the Raptor Series was built on a foundation engineered to last and backed with a full 5-Year Factory Warranty – Indmar’s commitment to the quality, durability and reliability of each engine in the Raptor Series line up.

Indmar Expands Raptor Portfolio Indmar

Indmar Marine Engines announced today the expansion of the Raptor Series portfolio to now include the Raptor 460 that boasts 453 lb.-ft. of torque. Big block power in a small block package. The addition of the Raptor 460 provides consumers with another step up in performance at a great price point alternative, making the Raptor Series the most versatile and rugged suite of engines on the market. In addition, the Raptor 460 fulfills customer demand and the void left by the larger displacement engines that are no longer produced.

The all-new Raptor 460 is built on the current Ford and Indmar platform to maximize performance and efficiency. The 460 has raised a few eyebrows with people thinking Indmar has resurrected the old Ford 460; however this is not the case. The Raptor 460 has less displacement; it’s lighter, more powerful and has better fuel economy then Ford’s legacy 460. Meaning, this is not your Grandfathers 460!

The Jet Series has been designed with a single point drain and is available with the following jet options: Hamilton, American Turbine, Berkeley, Dominator, Legend and Scott Water Jets.

With five engine configurations, the dual performing and 4x Award Winning Best-in-Class Raptor Series has the durability and capability to accommodate all your boating activities on a wide variety of vessels. The Raptor series dual personality has the adaptability to meet the demands of the most unforgiving marine conditions. From conquering the most challenging and demanding white water rapids and the gnarliest Pro Tour Tournaments to the average watersports family – What ever your boating vice may be, there is a Raptor by Indmar that is the perfect fit for your size boat and activity.

The Raptor Series continues to stand apart from the competition. From the not so standard base engine with best-in-class torque, horsepower and fuel efficiency to the heavy weight champ they call the ROUSHcharged Raptor 575, consumers will find each engine in the series was built on a foundation engineered to last and backed with a full 5-year Factory Warranty—Indmar’s commitment to the quality, durability and reliability of the all-new Raptor Series.

Here are a few of the Raptor Series advantages:

LOW RPM PERFORMANCE
Best-in-class torque and horsepower at lower rpm ranges (2,500-3,500). The 6.2L Raptor Series is the result of purpose driven engineering designed to provide more torque where you need it to allow for increased loading of boats. Experience faster acceleration, less time to plane, reduced wear-and-tear and better fuel economy.

UP TO 20% MORE FUEL EFFICIENT
Our computer controlled sequential firing multiport EFI system coupled with the additional control of wide-band air/fuel sensors and dual spark plugs makes for a leaner running engine which equates to better fuel economy and lower emissions. More time on the water and less time at the pump.

CLOSED COOLING
Helps maintain consistent engine temperatures contributing to better fuel economy and performance. Also prevents crank case condensation, ultimately eliminating corrosion leading to a longer engine life. Provides improved cabin heater performance.

DUAL SPARK PLUGS
Provides for more efficient combustion leading to increased fuel economy, reliability, cleaner emissions and more power per liter displaced. Time proven and aviation grade.

TOWSPORT SPECIFIC MARINE OIL PAN AND PICK UP TUBE
Designed to optimize oil pick-up at steep boat angles and high G turns. The purpose built marine oil pan takes away the worry of oil starvation by controlling how the oil moves around while towing all watersport disciplines.

RAPTOR PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (RPM)
In efforts to make boating easier for the driver, we have added a suite of monitoring systems that enables the high-capacity ECM to reduce operator workload, as well as react precisely to driver commands, we call it the Raptor Performance Management System (RPM).

QUIET RIDE
The overhead cam engine design coupled with a cast iron engine block and exhaust manifolds makes for an engine that runs smoother and quieter. Experience a smooth purr instead of loud engine that prevents you from being able to hear one another when on the boat.

EMISSIONS BETTER THAN 4 STAR RATING
The combination of high-strength cast iron manifolds and our ultra quiet stainless steel tubular catalyzed exhaust is better at containing heat allowing the catalyst to perform with greater efficiency producing exhaust emissions that are better than the required 4 star rating.

SERVICEABILITY
The standard closed cooling system makes winterization a snap with self-draining manifolds and fewer components requiring water drain. With our easily accessible remote mounted oil filter, quick-drain oil system and hi-mounted oil fill, routine maintenance is painless. Our hi-mounted alternator, flame arrestor and fuse/relay box are not only easily accessible at the top of the engine but are under the engine’s beauty cover for extra protection. Dual, long-life spark plugs, not only improve combustion but also extend the spark plug service life to 300 hours.

CORROSION PROTECTION
Our 5-step state-of-the-art paint process, e-coated components and special coatings on non-paintable components keep the outside of the engine looking like new. The inside is protected by a standard, anode protected closed cooling system so there is no contact with corrosive environments. Components that do come in contact with corrosive environments are made of brass, copper stainless steel or cast iron to ensure longevity.

Indmar’s Strainer Pro Awarded the 2016 NMMA and BWI Innovation Award Indmar

INDMAR’S SEA STRAINER WINS INNOVATION AWARD

  • The first two-in-one sea strainer with a built-in flush kit system

  • Extends the life expectancy of your engine, cleans the entire raw water-cooling circuit and adds protection when operating in lakes with heavy vegetation

  • Available to boat builders and to consumers as an aftermarket part

  • Can install technology on any inboard marine engine

Millington, Tenn. (Feb 11, 2016)Indmar Marine Engines, the worlds largest privately held manufacturer of gasoline inboard marine engines was honored today for innovative achievement by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI) at the 2016 Miami International Boat Show during the State of the Recreational Boating Industry Breakfast, held this morning at the Rusty Pelican within it’s Biscayne Ballroom.

Organized by the NMMA and judged by BWI, the award recognizes innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured that benefit the marine industry and consumers; they must be cost-effective; offer practicality; and are available to consumers within 60 days of award receipt.

So what have the innovative minds of Indmar Marine Engines done to receive yet another award this year? Indmar’s engineering team has developed a solution for their boat building partners and turned it into a market-winning product. They call it the Strainer Pro, the first sea strainer with a built-in flush kit. The Strainer Pro’s integrated and innovative design enables boat owners to protect their engine from debris and simplifies aquatic invasive species (AIS) flushing and maintenance with one product instead of two.

“When one of our boat building partners came to us because the stand alone brand sea strainer was loosing a significant amount of cooling water flow per minute and leaking air because of the design characteristics, I knew our team of talented engineers could build a better solution,” explains Jason Stimmel Vice President of Engineering. “Something we would be proud for our manufacturers to install on our engines or for consumers to install on any inboard marine engine as an aftermarket part. Consumers can purchase the Strainer Pro from one of Indmar’s 1,200 authorized dealers.”

As a result, Indmar’s engineering team found that by integrating the two products into one unit not only provided a practicality of use for boat owners but the two-in-one concept offered a space saving design that optimized flow dynamics, reduced potential leak points and water loss and offers a cost-effective solution at the OEM and consumer level.

“Our business can be quite complex,” said Chuck Rowe, President of Indmar Marine Engines. “However, when deconstructed, we can focus on each of the layers – client services, design technology, sustainability and an expanded product offering – so that we can successfully address the needs of today’s boat builder and boat owner.”

Indmar Marine Engines
The First Sea Strainer with a Built-in Flush Kit Indmar

Let’s take a look at the design and how the Strainer Pro works.

The Strainer Pro’s space saving design optimizes flow dynamics and since there is one integrated unit instead of two, there are fewer potential leak points. Indmar also added an integrated O-ring to improve sealing capabilities and the units straight axial flow design enables water to flow more freely straight through the strainer and reduces flow loss which provides more water to be utilized by the engines cooling system.

Boat builders and consumers can easily and quickly install the technology on almost any inboard marine engine. The inlet fitting can be oriented 360° to best serve the consumers needs.

When it’s time to strain and flush the engine, the patent-pending, permanently mounted onboard system flushes the engine easily with just one garden hose connection. The in-line strainer allows for easier basket removal. In addition, the material selection allows for 140° hot water flush for AIS flushing and the clear housing design provides higher visibility and encourages the boat owner in proper usage.

The two-in-one system give’s boat owners the ability to extend the life expectancy of their engine, cleans the entire raw water-cooling circuit and adds protection when operating in lakes with heavy vegetation.

The Strainer Pro is available to Indmar’s boat-building partners and since the Strainer Pro can be oriented 360° and fit’s on almost any inboard marine engine, it is also available to consumers as an aftermarket part.

At the manufacturer level, Indmar’s boat building partners have been able to eliminate parts, which reduces the part numbers that have to be budgeted for, bought and stocked. Their OEM’s have also been able to reduce labor cost for installation. And for the consumer, at aftermarket level, the Strainer Pro has proven to be easier to install (time-savings) and consumers save additional money since they only have to purchase one part instead of two.

• Ford based dual performing series of engines extends the Indmar brand into three segments: ski/wakeboard boats, jet boats and cruisers

• Indmar to showcase Wake, Jet and Cruiser engines series at the Miami Boat Show

• Indmar to debut service products and all-new Strainer Pro, the first sea strainer with built-in flush kit

Millington, Tenn. Feb 10, 2016Indmar Marine Engines, a dominant force in the marine industry, with more inboard marine engines in the market than any other manufacturer and a company that has been strengthened by customers who are fiercely loyal to their engines; plans to debut their entry into another new segment during the Miami International Boat Show February 11 – 12, 2016. This is big news for consumers in the Jet boat and Cruiser market. In addition, Indmar will be showcasing their line of service products and their all-new innovative Strainer Pro, the first sea strainer with a built-in flush kit.

Since Indmar’s partnership with Ford Motor Company, not only has Indmar re-introduced Ford to the marine market and brought ROUSH Performance supercharging technology to the marine industry for the first time, the all-new three-time award winning Raptor Series has opened new doors for the world’s most recognized inboard marine engine manufacturer. The company will take its hat off and discuss openly their entry into two new segments. Thanks to the dual performing Ford based engine series, Indmar now provides inboard marine engines in three segments with their Wake, Jet and Cruiser engine series.

“The response to the Raptor launch was overwhelming. The most frequent comment by far was ‘Please make this engine available in Jet Boats’ or ‘Put this in Cruisers!’ That’s precisely what we are doing now,” notes Scott Clack, Vice President of Indmar Marine Engines. “The all-new Jet and Cruiser engine series heralds a new chapter in the success story of Indmar and sets new standards in those segments as we position Indmar even more aggressively as a dynamic inboard marine engine brand.”

Indmar Marine Engines knows when it’s time to up the stakes and parlay a strong hand into a big win, which is exactly what Indmar did with Ford and Roush and is doing now with it’s entry into two new segments with it’s Ford based inboard marine engines.

After the impressive and successful launch of the Raptor Series, Indmar Marine Engines is still going full-throttle: “We never rest, but constantly strive to develop our products further,” explains Jason Stimmel Vice President of Engineering of Indmar Marine Engines. “The Ford based engine series had so much potential and based off consumer demand, we felt compelled to deliver it to the Jet boat and Cruiser market.”
